Google has released Google Talk, which is an IM/talk client that uses your Gmail ID.

Here's a decent article about it, though the writer seems remarkably ignorant once he says that it's a curious departure that the software doesn't have ads, which is total bullshit. No Google software I've used, such as Picasa, Google Earth and the Google Toolbar, ever displays ads.

Originally no IM had ads. But then they realized they can't keep losing money for nothing. I wonder what google talk's financial plan is?
