I have to admit, the newest version of Live is awesome. Halo's online experience is so far really great. You can send voice mail to your friends even if you or they are playing single player! You can make a temporary "party" that allows everyone in it to join games at the same time, and even always be on the same team (in ranked games).
It's like night and day when you compare it to Star Wars: Battlefront's online component.

Yeah they added a lot of new features to Xbox Live (I hear) to support the cool things Halo 2 wanted to do. Halo 2 really does set an extremely high bar for online support in a console game. Truly kickass experience.
